Ever met someone, either in person or virtually and felt that you clicked. Then wondered, “What do I do now?”

Simple answer – communicate with them, get to know them, figure out when is the right time to meet them in person.

Whatever you do, please don’t say, “Let’s meet for coffee,” after that initial internet or in-person introduction. If you do this, the person is going to think you’re coming on way too strong or that you have insidious plans to lure them to a dark alley. ;)

Communication can be tough when you’re getting to know someone and when you’re taking the risk to put yourself out there to date.

That’s why I made this final video as part of Strategies & Tips for Dating with a Disability.

Those first conversations and dates can be so awkward! What the heck do you say? You have multiple emotions going – nervous, excited, fear, feeling like you’re going to throw up…wait, that’s not an emotion.

You get my point.

Dating is hard. Dating with a disability is ten times harder. For years, I didn’t think I could do it. I spent many sleepless nights in fear that I’d always be alone, that no one would choose to be my “partner for life” due to my disability.

Today, after years of being happily married and truly believing no one could love me as well as my husband does, those sleepless nights and that intense fear are a distant memory.

It took me years to get from Point A to Point B. It doesn’t need to be that way for you.

Dating, Relationships, and Disability: How to Have Confidence and Succeed, an online course and coaching program, is a compilation of the strategies, insights, and exercises I learned, both personally and as a counselor, that led me to finally being successful in the dating world and finding me the true happiness I longed for.
